Rules for RP-ing in the GEW.

Here you find all rules for RP-ing in the GEW. If you don't like them or want to talk about it, the place to discuss it is this topic.

1. Make up your mind.
This means you should think about the storyline and how to create it. Don't post some two-line RP (like "I come to ring, I beat wrestler XY up and go again"). That doesn't mean you should create many complete pages of text, but I think at least 5-10 lines of text should be in a good RP posting. There can be exceptions (For example, if your wrestler only has to respond to something with a short "See you in the ring", etc.)
And try to be creative. Something creative is always better then a boring "i beat you"...

2. Open and closed RP.
Each RP in this board is a "closed" or an "open" RP. If the topic says nothing, it's an open RP and everyone may participate, if the topic starter makes it a "closed" RP, (Which he should state in his first post then) he restricts posting to some persons. For example, a topic starter could go like this:

Topic name: The training accident.

Closed RP: Wrestler X, Wrestler Y and Wrestler A and B.
-Insert RP here-

That means that X, Y, A and B may post in this thread. Others simply don't! They may post if they think their RP is HIGHLY useful for the storyline, but if not, they are not allowed to post in there. If you post something and are not on the list, the thread starter is allowed to PM a mod to delete the post. Also, the "allowed" people in the RP can simply ignore every unwanted post in their RP.
If the mods find any seemingly useless posts from not authorized members in closed-RP-Topics, they will be deleted.
This is for the simple reason for some highly active people not to pop up in every RP, disturbing it with intereferences and stuff. If you don't care, then leave your RP open, if not, then make it closed.

3. Check your spelling.
After posting, please check your spelling. No one cares about some little typos and and if your char has a speech problem, that can be a cool gimmick, but posting an absolutly unreadable RP on the show will make it even worse. So please, take yourself some time when you post an RP and check it afterwards, correct wrong phreases. We have many people from different lands and some are better in english then others, naturally, but I think having a little standard should really help.

4. Don't post for other characters or powerpose.
If you make a RP, don't use others persons wrestlers. In Theory-Speech we call that "powerposing". Surely, wrestling is all about beating people up and punching them backstage, and you can do that, but try to avoid writing as another character. This will destroy the other guys work (if he makes a strong guy and you simply pop up and beat him to a bloddy pulp, for example). You wouldn't want your character used by someone else if he would make you talk like a coward and a weakling.

There may be exceptions to this rule. If you know your RP-Partner very well, it may be ok to have him say some small lines in your RP or if you are good friends.
And as said above surely you can give some backstage-beating to someone else, just try to avoid powerphrases like "i knock XY out" and say something like "I try to knock XY out", because this gives him the option to react or get knocked out (and a good RP-er does not always avoid getting knocked out). you will see, it will make RP definitly more worthwile.
